We are excited to announce the new South Asia Center Assistant Director, Amelia Carter, who will be replacing Raili Roy. Amelia will begin on October 24th and comes to us from the Penn Middle East Center where she worked as Program Coordinator responsible for a variety of academic events. Amelia also played an important role at MEC in the creation and administration of outreach programs towards K-14 students, educators, and general public. We are very fortunate that Amelia assisted the South Asia Center as the coordinator for the C.U. in India study abroad program in recent years as well. Amelia holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography and Urban Studies from Temple University and a Master of Liberal Arts with graduate certificates in Gender and Sexuality Studies and Global Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. Amelia is pursuing her passion for social justice work through her work as a board member and organizer for Germantown United Community Development Corporation and iMPeRFeCT Gallery in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia.
