Exploring Culture and History in the Virtual World*

Recommended for Teachers of Grades 4-12

Thursday, August 20

1:00 PM - 2:30 PM EST

FREE

With the reality of a fully virtual fall on the horizon, the Penn Museum invites educators to get hands-on with digital tools that can be used to engage students in learning at home. Individually and in small groups, participants will visit and reflect in writing upon various natural sites, musical sounds, poetry and artworks that reveal stories from South Asia. This experience is designed to introduce learners to a topic in a way that gives them choice and ownership to build confidence in their abilities to express themselves.  After using virtual tools to learn more about South Asia, educators will discuss as a community ways to adapt the process for use in their personal virtual classroom and synchronous curriculum!

1.5 hours Act 48 credits available for PA teachers.  (Certificates of completion available for teachers from other states.)

Registration is required, so please fill out the following questions and we will be in touch with a link and login information the day before the actual event.
