International Women's Day attracted audience of over 100 to International House

South Asia Center along with Penn's other National Resource Centers, Africana Studies Center, Center for East Asian Studies, and Mid-East Center organized the yearly International Women’s Day panel discussion at International House. This year’s theme focused on Women and War and our diverse speakers ranged in expertise, providing academic, legal, and policy perspectives on the diverse nature of women’s experience in war and peace.

This year’s panel featured Dr. Yasmin Saikia, Chair of Peace Studies at Arizona State University, Matiangai Sirleaf, Sharswood Fellow at Penn Law, and Marianne Elias, Senior Program Officer at American Friends Service Committee.
