Early Career Fellowship on History & Anthropology of STEM in South Asia

The South Asia Center would like to invite applications from early career scholars working on any topic related to the History or Anthropology of Science, Technology, Environment or Medicine for a one-month fellowship.

The fellow will be based the University of Pennsylvania and is primarily intended to allow scholars based in South Asia to use the archival and library resources of the University of Pennsylvania and the greater Philadelphia area, as well as to gain feedback on their on-going projects from relevant faculty at the University and elsewhere in the vicinity.

Benefits: The fellowship will pay for the travel to and from South Asia to Philadelphia as well as for a month’s accommodation and food. The successful fellow will also be expected to give a lecture based on his/her on-going research.

Eligibility: Applicants must either be enrolled in a PhD programme for 3 or more years, OR have received their PhD degree within the last 4 years. Applicants must be based in South Asia.  Preference will be given to candidates who have never travelled outside of South Asia for research before now.
