Affiliated Faculty Small Grants Competition: Deadline April 3rd

The South Asia Center is pleased to announce a third round of grants from our Affiliated Faculty Fund this year.  The Affiliated Faculty Fund provides small grants of up to $1000 to support faculty and/or student-led activities relating to South Asia on your campus.  These grants are designed to build interest in South Asia programming in colleges and universities in the greater Delaware region.  Proposals that involve participants from more than one area institution are particularly encouraged.  Grants might help to bring a speaker or South Asian film to your campus(s), pay for a venue or advertising for a South Asian writing group or South Asia-related works-in-progress seminar, or otherwise support South Asia-related events or collaboration.  Unfortunately, food/beverage expenses are not allowed, per US Department of Education rules for Title VI grant funds.

Eligibility is limited to current Affiliated Faculty members of the South Asia Center.

To apply, simply submit a brief proposal (it need not be more than 1 page) describing a) your planned activity, b) who the participants will be, c) the funding request & how the funds will be used, and d) the expected impact on your campus, to jchavez@sas.upenn.eduThe deadline is April 3rd, with decisions announced April 17th

Our goal for the Affiliated Faculty initiative is to increase the connections between scholars of South Asia in the greater Philadelphia and surrounding region.  We bring Affiliated Faculty members together on a semi-regular basis to get to know one another, share resources, and collaborate wherever possible.
