Executive Director 

Binational Fulbright Commission in Nepal

 

Applications are invited from American and Nepali citizens for the position of Executive Director of the Commission for Educational Exchange Between the United States and Nepal (USEF Nepal), a non-profit, bi-national commission, managed by a bi-national Board of Directors which is responsible for administering the Fulbright Academic Exchange Program in Nepal and other educational grants funded by the Department of State and the Department of Education.  The USEF Nepal Executive Director reports to the Board.  The Executive Director also assists in programs promoting U.S. higher education throughout Nepal.

 

Candidates should have 6-8 years of experience in higher education, management, or related fields, in addition to strong familiarity with international educational exchange issues.  A successful candidate will have a track record that demonstrates creativity and innovation, as well as effective managerial skills, and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of and vision for U.S. – Nepal educational relations. 

 

Applicants must demonstrate effectiveness when interacting with American and Nepali academics, government officials, and other leaders.  Applicants must be able to provide leadership in implementing an international exchange program compatible with the changing needs of both countries; working effectively with a board of American and Nepali members and with educational leaders in both countries to promote U.S. – Nepali educational relations; and ensuring that USEF Nepal fulfills the purposes of the bi-national agreement and the policy guidelines of the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, a U.S. presidentially appointed board that establishes worldwide policies and procedures for the Fulbright Program.

 

Job functions are divided equally among administration, program planning and development and public relations. The position will be based in USEF Nepal’s offices in Kathmandu, Nepal.
