K-12 educators and administrators: Check out the Summer Institute at Penn. This week long workshop will help educators create thoughtful globally inclusive curriculum in their local schools. Summer Institute 2015: Engaging with World Heritage


For K-12 teachers seeking to:
- Understand the increasing importance of our world regions in the K-12 classroom
- Learn new information and tools to connect Greater Philadelphia classrooms to the world

"Transnational Experiences: Engaging with World Heritage"  will connect Greater Philadelphia, its history, and social climate, to global histories and contexts. The program features presentations by Penn faculty and area professionals, museum field trips, and global cuisine. Participants will create lessons and experiential activities for their classes, culminating in a “World Heritage Tool Kit.” The Summer Institute is FREE. Act 48 credits available.

When: Monday, July 13th - Friday, July 17th

Eligibility: Greater Philadelphia teachers currently teaching or in administration

Stipend: $150 upon completion

Outcome: A World Heritage Tool Kit full of lesson plans and resources to be rolled out in Fall 2015
