Please find below a draft schedule of this year’s program for the annual meeting of the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Association for Asian Studies, which will be held at the University of Pennsylvania on October 1–2, 2022. Conference registration for students is significantly discounted; undergraduates and non-presenters are very welcome! A brief rundown of the conference schedule is pasted immediately below for your convenience.

Other Notable Events and Opportunities:

On Thursday and Friday, September 29–30, there will be an opening event for the Arthur Tress Collection in the Kislak Center on the sixth floor of Van Pelt Library. Details here.

On Friday, 9/30, Dr. Frank Chance will lead an optional afternoon tour of the Shofuso Japanese House and Garden starting at 13:30. Spaces are limited; registration required.

Throughout the weekend, the Penn Museum is offering free admission to all conference attendees. You can enter the Museum simply by showing your conference badge.

Finally, on Sunday, 10/2, there will be an optional tour of the Asian Collectionat the Penn Museum led by Assistant Curator Adam Smith starting at 15:30. Spaces are limited; registration required.
