The University of Pennsylvania’s South Asian Center is offering eight grants of $1,000 each for teachers to travel on GEEO's Sri Lanka program running from June 30 to July 13, 2025. More information about the program can be found here.
Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey educators will be given special consideration, but anyone is welcome to apply at any point. There is no application deadline, but grants will be awarded on a rolling basis based on the quality of the applications, with preference given to educators from districts with limited resources.

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to sharing their travel experiences in the classroom the following academic year. Grant recipients will be required to create and submit a lesson plan by August 29, 2025.
Applicants who are offered a grant will have 72 hours to accept the grant by completing the GEEO program's booking form and paying a $350 deposit. The grant will cover $1,000 of the remainder of the program fee. All travel costs not covered by the grant, including the balance of the GEEO program fee and international airfare, are the responsibility of the grant recipient. Round-trip airfare is approximately $1,900-2,000 from Philadelphia and $1,650-1,800 from JFK.
